75 mm U.V with Quartz Sleeve

These U.V. units are used where more effective sterilization process is required and where bacteria free water is essential. The units are fitted with both a quartz glass
sleeve and a stainless steel reflector. The quartz sleeve has two advantages, one is a safety feature and the other is that it allows the U.V tube to run at its optimum operating temperature, instead of being in direct contact with the liquid being sterilized. Quartz sleeve are used, as it is one of the best materials to allow U.V. rays to pass through. The stainless Steel reflector helps to reflect the U.V. rays thus increasing the kill rate.

These units are made from 75mm diameter, class 9 U.P.V.C piping and thus can handle a higher pressure. The units have been tested to 9 bar but safe operating pressure is 4 bar. The units come standard with 50mm moulded unions for easy maintenance and repairs.

Choice of unit

As in our well-known pond clarifiers, there are four units available, 8 watt, 15 watt,
30 watt and 55 watt or we can manufacture larger units on request. Larger units are made from configurations of the above units.

How to choose the correct U.V Steriliser.

1. Select applications level required bearing in mind the type of pathogen to be controlled or killed (See Zap dosage table). Level 2 or 3 is adequate for most applications.
2. Decide on the flow rate you require in m³/hour (thousand litres/hour) taking into account the recommendations on the table provided.
3. Divide this number by the flow rate per lamp given in the table below for your selected application level.
4. The result tells you the number of lamps you require to treat your given flow rate. If you have an odd number or fraction number, you should up to the nearest whole even number.

Some Applications where this Professional Unit may be applied.

· Sterilizing drinking water – Borehole, Dam, Bottling plants in conjunction with suitable filtration.
· Jacuzzi/Spa’s
· Cat Fish Farming
· Tilapia Farming
· Oyster Farming
· Effluent treatment

AND anywhere, where sterile results are required.

An hour metre may be fitted to the units to maintain a record of operating time. Lamp life is 8000 hours but it is recommended to change the lamps every 4000 hours.
