Handling your koi can cause them great stress, and even though many koi hobbyists do not enter their koi in shows, thus not needing to handle them excessively, you will need to at some time or another inspect them for diseases and parasites thus an Ultra Zap sock net is the safest way to handle your koi. Being made of an extremely
soft/fine material, it will not damage your koi when it moves around in thenet while being moved from the catching net to the bowl or medicine pond and when returning the fish to the pond.

How to use a sock net.

· Firstly inspect the sock net for any damages, if it has any do not chance using it, and have it repaired.
· Once inspected and you are satisfied with the net, submerge the whole sock into the water so that the material becomes softer as not to damage your koi.
· Holding the tail end of the sock firmly in one hand, slowly dip the net into the vessel where the koi is.
· Gently persuade the koi to swim head first into the sock net and then twist over the net end to prevent the koi from jumping out.
· Now lift the sock net to the bowl or medicine pond, placing it into the water and gently untwisting the head of the sock net.
· Raise the net end out of the water while lowering the tail end so that the koi can swim out headfirst. This will reduce the stress placed on the koi.

N.B: Always remember to sterilize your nets or to only use them in one pond.
